Amy V. Cofield
Amy was born in Greenville, South Carolina, February 10, 1963, to Carl Thomas Cofield, III, and Mary Ann Cofield. She was raised with her sister, Kathryn Cofield Wood and her brother (and law partner) Thomas C. Cofield in the Golden Strip area of Greenville County, South Carolina, until 1978. Then, her family moved to Anderson where she graduated from T. L. Hanna in 1981.
In 1984, Amy earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the University of South Carolina. She then taught fifth grade at Starr Elementary School in Anderson County for three years. While teaching school, she completed her masters of education in 1987.
Amy graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School in December 1990, and, after passing the bar examination, joined her father, C. After, she operated her law firm as a solo practitioner until she moved to Lexington. In 2002, she joined her brother, Thomas C. Cofield, and reformed Cofield Law Firm.
Amy is married to Jimmy Terrapin of Lexington. She has two children, Kessler and Tommy, and three stepsons, Coleman, Brett and Aaron Terrapin. In her “free time” she enjoys golf, Gamecock sports and mostly, cheering at her boys’ sporting events.
